In the movie, in the background of the conversation between Speed and Sparky at the Grand Prix, a woman wearing a red racing suit(?) can be seen behind them very briefly. It's in the same shot that Sonic Renaldi can also be seen walking to his car.

In the film, Royalton explains that the Grand Prix of 1943 was a part in the world's transition to Fuel Cells powering vehicles. So this means the film is set in an alternative universe and the events of the film are set in 1991. This actually makes sense as in the 80s the first plans for a Speed Racer Live Action film surfaced. So it probably would have come out in the 90s if not for the series of delays.

For a long time the Shockwave street cars have been using a fan name, not related to any sponsor or anything except their appearance, but now two sponsors of it were recently found: Atsui Shimbun, and Mr. Wong.

What I wanted an opinion on is if the car should be renamed to have any of those two sponsors on the title or not. I'm conflicted as there's another unknown sponsor on its hood that probably relates to it more, and could lead to the car getting renamed multiple times if it gets found later (there's too many pages that link to these cars, it gets tiring to rename it all), but I also don't want to leave it with a fan name...

I don't know how many people even care about this, but I wanted to post about it anyway.

Recently became obsessed with the movie and the diverse vehicle designs present in it. Also noticed the huge amount of detailed concept art of the racers from graphic designer Alejandro Lecuna that are posted here on this wiki (two examples provided). I would absolutely love to look at these concepts up close and take in all the finer details but uh..

the images are pretty small..

Are these the largest images we have to work off of? Or are there much higher resolution ones somewhere out there? It genuinely looks like these were scaled down, so I'm curious to see if there are larger versions somewhere.

Hi, sooooo, the Speed Racer sticker book has a board game (?) on one of the pages.

Something that interests me (aside from the Green Energy) is that the track has sponsor logos plastered all over it. Problem is that they’re in Japanese/Chinese (and one is in I think Arabic?).

So I was watching this video, and noticed that it showed a screen with another list of cars for the Grand Prix.

This list appears to be less bullsh*t when compared to the one that appears in the movie. However, it is still not fully accurate, as it only lists a few of the cars and they repeat. Regardless I still thought it was interesting, especially the one named "Cheerios"...

So, in one part of the flashback where Speed met Trixie for the first time and then introduced her to Pops and Rex, they were working on an engine. I screensnapped this part at the bit where Rex was disposing of the explosive package. This side of the engine had six, glowing blue lines radially arranged. You know what else would have these glowing lines?

The Mach 6's Bernoulli Convergenator. It is also mentioned by Pops when interviewed in the mockumentary "Wonderful World of Racing: The Amazing Racer Family" that after Rex's death in the Casa Cristo that he "didn't think [he'd] ever put [his] hands on an engine or a Convergenator again."

So, what my theory is, is that the engine Pops and Rex were working on was the Mach 4's engine, and that it had a Convergenator in it.

So in the “Making of Speed Racer” extra, when they discuss the fact that they “probably designed an excessive 100 cars“, for a second a T-180 sponsored by Mrs. Oats scrolls by.

Doesn’t appear in the movie so I assume it was unused like the KaraSugoi and Habemus Machina T-180s.

Although we've never had a single digital files of those logos, I remade some of them.

ULUL: This one was the easiest logo to be remade, despite some possible inaccuracies.

Mrs.Oats: This one isn't seen in the Videogame, but seen in the movie. You can see this logo in the Infinite 55 and the blue & red Kawarimono cars, same being applied to one of Thunderhead's outdoors.

I saw an episode of speed racer a few years ago ive wanted to see it again but i havent been able to find it all i remember is it (might) of been about a very powerful engine that someone wanted to use for racing, but pops wanted to stop them because he believed it was too dangerous because of its power, i think the bad dude then tried to use the engine in a car but it exploded

( this might not even be the plot and I think the engine had a marking on it like 101 or something and I think it was buried somewhere)
