Billy Steel-belted is a minor character from the 2008 movie Speed Racer.
Background[]
He races for Manecks Novelties[1] and his T-180 is numbered 89. His name is never officially given and is only told in the movie's script[2].
Fuji Helexicon[]
He only appears briefly in the Fuji Helexicon race, where he attempts to crash onto Speed's Mach 6, but ends up almost hitting Taejo's Hangul and falling to the sea instead.
Grand Prix[]
A recolored version of his vehicle can be seen in the Grand Prix. It is unknown if he's the one driving it.
Trivia[]
- His car's body design is very similar to the videogame version of Chit Ticket, Colonel Colon's T-180.
- According to the movie's script, Billy was bribed with diamonds by Cruncher Block in order for him to eliminate Speed's team at the desert section of the Casa Cristo race, together with the rest of the Manecks Novelties and the Atomic Injectables teams. The Flying Foxes Freight team replaced the Manecks drivers in the actual movie.
