Speed, Trixie, Sparky, Spritle, and Chim Chim are at the Universal Motor Show admiring the cars. Speed mentions the unnamed car they are looking at almost beat him at the South American grand Prix.
The group, by chance, runs into a boy, Gizmo, whom Trixie immediately gives two chocolate bars. Gadge Zoomer, Gizmo’s father appears and throws the candy on the floor, saying his boy doesn't need any charity or gifts before stalking off. Despite the candy exploding on impact with the floor, Sprite mentions he’d still eat it.
Speed notices Zoomer dropped his camera, and takes it to his place of work the next day. He meets with Zoomer’s boss, and discovers Zoomer was fired a week ago for losing a race. Speed then asks for Zoomer’s home address. He meets with Zoomer’s wife and Gizmo. Zoomer is not at home at the moment.
Gizmo says his father is a coach for the Fly by Night Motor Company and taunts Speed saying his dad will beat him in the next race. Only, when Gizmo leaves does Zoomer’s wife reveal the truth! Zoomer is a car wrestler!!
At this point the camera is forgotten, as Speed decides it’s his goal to convince Zoomer to give up the disreputable and dangerous job and return to professional racing (ironic, because Speed is the danger on the race track).
When returning home that day, Speed, by chance comes across Zoomer and follows him. Zoomer instantly recognizes Speed and the Mach 5 and leads him into a junkyard. A mountain of cars collapses on the Mach 5, crushing it, though Speed escapes.
He brings the damaged car to Pops’ shop and meets with Pops, Trixie, Sparky, Spritle, and Chim Chim. Sparky briefly mentions that a car wrestler can earn 30,000 usd ($242,358 today). Pops expressed hatred for car wrestlers as the team begins to repair the Mach 5.
But, Speed decides entering into the next car wrestling competition is imperative in order to save Zoomer from his bad profession. So, after Pops leaves the rest of the gang continues to repair the Mach 5 so it will be ready for the competition tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Zoomer’s crew unveils his new car for the competition the next day. It has five buttons: 1, 2, 3, 4, and X. 1 puts out road spikes. 2 Extends larger spikes from the back of the car. 3 is a lever that flips cars next to him. 4 is a giant saw blade on the front. And X makes the car fly. Zoomer is very impressed. He plans to kill Speed during the competition in revenge for the time Speed beat him in a race the year prior.
The morning of the competition, the wrestling match is about to start, but Speed is still having maintenance done on the Mach 5. The automatic jack isn’t fully repaired yet! Speed is out of time and leaves anyway.
Speed makes it just in time, and begins to smash the competition violently and without mercy.
Meanwhile, upstairs in the spectators, Spritle runs into Gizmo. Gizmo mocks Speed for becoming a car wrestler. Spritle reveals Gizmo’s father is also a car wrestler, but Gizmo doesn’t believe him as ”only broken down racers become car wrestlers.”
Down in the ring, Zoomer is looking like the favorite to win thanks to all of his new gadgets, but Speed approaches with gadgets of his own! Zoomer pulls out his giant blade and Speed responds in kind with his tree chopping saws. They square off, as the final two in the competition. They charge each other. After some nonsense, Speed plans to use the automatic jacks, but the jacks break. However, Zoomer knew Speed was going to do this and uses the X (fly button) on his car. Speed doesn't jump as high as he would have, and crashes into the bottom of Zoomer’s car, wrecking it (the Mach 5 is fine).
Gizmo, who has made his way into the ring, is hit with debris. Zoomer, now unmasked, runs to his son. Gizmo pleads with his father, telling him to say that today was the first time he was a car wrestler. This is not true, as he is the grand champion of car wrestling known as "X" professionally. (not to be confused with Racer X). This means that Zoomer has reached this coveted position within a week, or he was a car wrestler long before he lost his job.
Speed comes to save the day by telling Gizmo that he had gone mad with the Mach 5’s power and Zoomer had come to stop him. This is a lie.
Gizmo taken to the hospital where Zoomer tells Speed he will stop car wrestling for good. He plans to return to professional racing. He apologizes to Speed and the two agree to meet again in the future, this time on a race track.

- Gadge Zoomer's connections with Speed were mentioned much earlier, but the English cuts this and wasn't revealed until the second half of the episode.
- Trixie originally gave the chocolate bars to Gizmo as a reward for stopping Chim Chim. But it was changed to her just being generous to him.
- The camera originally belonged to Gizmo, but the English states it belongs to his father Gadge.
- Gadge's former boss asked Speed on why he needs his address was absent in the English dub.
- Inner monologue was added for Speed of him thinking how he'll help Gadge Zoomer.
- The prize money for the car wresting was changed between Japanese and English. In Japanese, it was 10 million yen (70,544 in US money). In English, it was 30,000 US dollars.
